In practice since 1998
I was always very nearsighted…and amazed at the improvement in my vision when I would get new glasses. I started working in optometry at the age of 15 and soon realized that I wanted to help others.
Today after two decades as an optometrist, I enjoy the same things about eyecare as I did when I was a teen. I know I’m making a difference in people’s lives, and it’s a great feeling to be able to diagnose a problem, treat it and help someone prevent vision loss.
I also enjoy the simple act of interacting with people. I feel not only like an eye doctor but a friend who is looking out for their best interests and striving to help them have a better quality of life. I care about them, and I want what’s best for them.
I know that this starts with understanding that each person is unique and addressing their concerns, problems, and objectives on an individual basis. I realize how important it is to choose a career you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.
